The TAD 6V6GTB-STR BLACKPLATE™ offers a refined interpretation of the classic 6V6 character. It delivers a controlled, musical breakup with warm midrange content and a natural, relaxed tonal profile. Its overall response carries a clear resemblance to the NOS designs that shaped early tube amplification.

In comparative listening tests with 5E3 Deluxe and Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb amplifiers, this model performed on the level of early-1960s black-anode RCA 6V6GT tubes. The design benefits from stable thermal behaviour, contributing to consistent operation and extended service life.

This current production run is built from remaining original raw materials, now manufactured again since early 2024. As with all TAD tubes, each unit is tested, selected, and matched in Germany for reliable performance.

It features stable heat dissipation, detailed and well-defined reproduction, a lifelike presentation of voices, and a structure suited for complex, three-dimensional tones.
